The Memphis Bar Association Health Law Section with Wyatt, Tarrant, and Combs LLP will sponsor the Saturday Legal Clinic on the morning of September 9, 2017. The clinics are held the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Main Library (3030 Poplar Avenue). Volunteer attorneys provide free legal assistance to those in need on a first come, first served basis. The clinics average close to 100 clients per month, and 20 to 30 volunteer lawyers are needed to timely consult with each client. Volunteers are asked to listen and provide basic legal guidance; lawyers with experience in the relevant subject matter are always on-site and available to assist all volunteer attorneys. Initiated in October 2007, the Saturday Legal Clinic is a project of the Access to Justice Committee, a collaborative effort of local bar associations and non-profit organizations to provide legal services to those in need.
