Center hosts customized cultural programs for groups of all ages. Maintains an exhibit hall that presents music, photographs, and media that showcase Memphis’s rich cultural heritage. The voices and music of hundreds of men and women form the basic of the Center’s Multimedia Archives. The Center is engaged in digitizing elements of the Archives so that this information can be available in cds, dvds, and photographs. Selected portions of Center’s work is available in the Center’s Folklore Store at 123 S. Main. The Center presents music programs on Friday and Saturday evenings. The Center’s major public event is the Memphis Music & Heritage Festival held the Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend.
